2021 Nissan LEAF Virginia Beach VA

It’s hard to believe that the Nissan LEAF has already been around for over a decade, but it’s true. It was first introduced all the way back in 2010 and just entered its second generation in 2017. The compact hatchback sedan might not be the most well-known or popular model on the lineup, but it’s one of the most exciting battery electric vehicles on the market in our opinion, and its newest iteration – the 2021 Nissan LEAF – is available now right here at Banister Nissan of Chesapeake near Virginia Beach VA.

Not much changed for the new model year, but it is available in two different versions for 2021. The traditional Nissan LEAF is joined by the extended-range LEAF PLUS. The standard Nissan LEAF is powered by the combination of a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery and a 110-kW electric motor. These two things work together to generate 147 horsepower alongside 236 pound-feet of torque, which enables the LEAF to travel up to 149 miles on a single charge.

Both the battery and electric motor are upgraded in the LEAF PLUS. The lithium-ion battery offers a larger capacity of 62 kWh, while the electric motor offers more power thanks to 160 kW. This improves the hatchback sedans performance by 45 percent, as it can generate 214 horsepower alongside 250 pound-feet of torque and achieve an electric range of 226 miles. This makes the Nissan LEAF much more exciting!
